Information on data processing concerning ECDL/OCG exams and certificates

We process your personal data of the following data categories:

  • Master data: first name, last name, date of birth, address, phone number, e-mail, skills card number
  • Special data categories: Test Center where exam took place, any relevant notes concerning test environment
  • Tests taken and results
  • Certificates issued

Legal Basis for contract

We use the personal data you provide to us under the terms of contract we have with you. Without these data we are not able to conclude a contract with you.

We have received your data from authorised Test Centers and/or the association it in der Bildung to fulfil the contract and to carry out pre-contractual measures.

The purpose of processing your data is:

  • to provide exams
  • to issue ECDL/OCG certificates

How long will we retain your personal data?

We will retain your data indefinitely because the skills card remains valid for life.

Who can see your data?

Master data, tests taken and results, certificates issued

  • OCG staff entrusted with the processing of personal data
  • Staff of the Test Centers you have authorised to do so

Special data categories

  • Only OCG staff entrusted with the processing of personal data

How can you access your data?

Candidates can access their data at www.ecdl.at/de/ecdl-login where they can update their data at any time.

Your rights – legal information

You have various rights with respect to our use of your personal data: right of access, rectification, erasure, right to restrict processing, right to data portability and right to object. Please contact us if you have any questions concerning these rights.

If you want to exercise your right of erasure (and there is no other legal obligation to retain them) we must inform you that as soon as your data is erased, we will not be able to

  • verify your certificate
  • issue a duplicate or
  • book another exam to your Skills Card.

If you believe that the processing of your personal data is in breach of data protection laws or if you believe that your rights have been violated in any way, please report your concern to the national supervisory authority Austrian Data Protection Authority.
